2021 Representative & Development Programme


BBHB is pleased to confirm the 2021 Representative Programme.

 

  • December 2020/January 2021
    • Coach applications will be sought in December. With coaches being confirmed by late January at the absolute latest.
  • February 2020
    • Trials will be in early February (after Maori nationals, when all players have returned to school for the 2021 year).
    • Trainings will begin in late February/early March.
  • Easter Tournament
    • As always, BBHB will be sending teams from the U11/U13 Development Programme, and the U15-U19 Representative Programme to the Mel Young Easter Classic. This takes place 2nd-5th April 2021 in Tauranga.
  • Queen's Birthday Tournaments
    • The U15 & U17 Representative teams will continue training in April & May working towards the Central Zone Queen's Birthday National Qualifying Tournament, 5th-7th June. Location TBC, but this is expected to be Palmerston North.
    • The U19 Representative teams will continue training in April & May working towards the U19 National Tournament which is held on Queen's Birthday every year. In 2021, this is 5th-8th June.
  • July School Holidays
    • The U15 & U17 teams will attend their respective BBNZ National Tournaments in July.
    • U17 is always first week of July School Holidays. This is 14th-17th July in 2021.
    • U15 is always second week of July School Holidays. This is 21st-24th July in 2021.
  • Term 3: U13 Representative Programme
    • Coach applications will be sought in May. With coaches being confirmed by late June. There is a possibility that coaches remain from the U11/U13 Development Programme in Term 1.
    • Trials will take place in the last two weeks of Term 2.
    • Selections will be confirmed over the July School Holidays.
    • Trainings begin the first week of Term 3.
    • U13 Central Regional Championships are always the second week of the October School Holidays. This is 13th-16th October 2021.
